Senator Ted Cruz has come up with a very interesting way to come up with the money needed to build Trump’s infamous border wall. He thinks that the United States government should take the billions and billions of dollars seized from El Chapo and use that to build the wall.
“Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border,” Senator Ted Cruz said. “Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is one of my top priorities.”
It sounds like this plan has a real shot of working. It makes sense that the money taken from the drug lord “El Chapo” should go to ensuring our borders are as safe as they can be. Americans should not have to live in fear of illegal immigrants anymore, and that is exactly what President Trump promised.
“The United States Government is currently seeking the criminal forfeiture of more than $14 billion in drug proceeds and illicit profits from El Chapo, the former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel who was recently extradited to the United States to face criminal prosecution for numerous alleged drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering,” Cruz went on.
Cruz is now planning to write a bill outlining the exact way that the United States will be able to do this. Right now it is still in the works, but if it gets passed, it would be a huge win for the Trump administration.
Hopefully we will see something good come from this. We are starting to see out government officials thinking outside the box. Everyone in the country should want this wall built, for the safety of out citizens.
Is this a good idea by Senator Ted Cruz?
